Canadian Research Scientists Come to NCEPU for Academic Exchanges
Mr. Bruce R. Clements, Research Scientist and Director of Boiler Combustion & Optimization Laboratory, CANMET Energy Technology Centre and Dr. Ligang Zheng, Research Scientist, are invited to the School of Thermal Power Engineering of NCEPU for lectures and academic exchanges from April 8 to 13.
Mr. Bruce R. Clements gives three separate lectures on the following topics, "Boiler Design and Optimization", "TIPS Process Overview and Design Issues" and "Overview of Ash Monitoring System". On the other hand, Dr. Ligang Zheng gives two separate lectures on the topics associated with "IGCC Power Plants Overview", "Computer Modeling and Simulation of IGCC Power Plant" and "Combustion System for CO 2 Capture and Feasibility study of TIPS Process".
During their visit, Mr. Bruce R. Clements and Dr. Ligang Zheng holds a long monographic discussion with the research group headed by Dr. Yan Weiping, a professor of Thermal Power Engineering at NCEPU, on the solutions to the formulation of boiler furnace pollution supervision and soot blowing optimization strategies. Besides, a lot of constructive suggestions are proposed on the technological cooperation between CANMET Energy Technology Centre, Energy Technology Centre of Lehigh University (American) and NCEPU.
